What are some simple and effective ways to clear your mind for spiritual work?

Not what the books say but what you personally do to switch off and focus

ThanksWhat are some simple and effective ways to clear your mind for spiritual work?
Basically our spiritual path is leading us to unity with others until the whole of humanity is united as a single living creature.

The whole path is impossible without the right environment, which mainly means a group of like minded people yearning for the same goal.

We have to build a mutual helping system with our friends while working towards our goal.

So the most effective way of clearing ones mind is the thought, that if I am not concentrating on the right goal, and not giving the best effort I can, I am like the fool, who is drilling a hole under himself on a boat, thinking that he only hurts himself with it, not understanding, that the whole boat is going to sink as a result.

I hope it helps, all the best. What are some simple and effective ways to clear your mind for spiritual work?
You cannot do any spiritual work.

Without Christ you can do nothing.

Only God can do spiritual work.

You need to cease from your own works and through Christ enter into His rest.

For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.

Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.

You need God's work and working.

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

How can you do that without close attention to God's Word, the Bible?

You do not need to clear your mind, far from it, but to apply your mind and heart to find Him and His will through His Word.
Go to a quiet area! Get comfortable. Do some relaxing breaths in and out slowly while you mentally focus on something really nice or calming ( like a river or floating clouds) is a good start. Do that for about 5 to 10 minutes before... let me know if it helps.
I recall that wondrous day on which I first found Christ, and kicked his head in. Oh yeeeeaahhhh, I showed him; he was all ';but my brother I love you';, and I was all ';I don't need your love, it's time for PAIN';.
i know this sounds crazy but you should try meditation or having a masage it works i had one i school and got top marks for the rest of that day.
TRy to remember all the time the GOD in mind.MAke HIM is your beloved.Love him.HE already love us .Allah is most merciful.
