I find that i obtain a peacefulness that i cannot achieve by praying. it seems that if i simply clear my mind of both sides the devil and God then i am content.
I am no longer torn in either direction, i don't feel the need to pray or the compulsion to sin.
To separate myself from all emotion seems to give me an inner Zen like peace. Do you think God would disapprove of this?
To feel nothing is too know peace. To know peace is too know God. So then to know God is in essences to know nothing. When i clear my mind and think of nothing?
Meditation is very important, and very beneficial for the psyche. When we get caught up in the toils of the day, we have a tendency to react as if life is about suffering and struggle. When you are in a meditative state you realize that life is about simply being and living.
The goal of every human being that has ever existed is happiness. We have a tendency to seek for happiness in outside sources, telling ourselves that ';If I only had that much money I'd be happy';, ';If I only had that job I'd be happy';, or ';If I only was with that person I'd be happy';.
There is one big problem with this way of thinking. Happiness is an emotion, not an object. Emotions are generated from the inside-out, not the other way around. Happiness can never be gained from anything exterior of ourselves, but is generated within and shared with what is exterior of ourselves. When i clear my mind and think of nothing?
That isn't just a Zen-like peace you are attaining. The method you are using--meditation--is at the heart of Zen, which is trying to make your waking mind stop in order to perceive Truth.
By ';knowing nothing'; you are trying to transcend human perceptive limitations.
Go to a used book store and buy an armload of Zen books if you want to learn some more about it. However, to be true to Zen I suggest you read them only once and then sell them back.
Meditation is difficult to obtain at the beginning, it takes practice and patiense.
It's called meditation. Doesn't the bible say that Jesus went and meditated?
What you are feeling is the absence of God...
Revel in it.
That's one way of putting it.
