How do you clear your mind to find some peace and tranquility?

It depends on you. Different people require different means to obtain the result you are looking for.

I find my mind is most clear in the very early morning. Do you ever find that you wake up at a particular time in the middle of the night, maybe 2 or 3 in the morning? If you do, wake up and see what happens. It's amazing!

If that's not you, try removing all your distractions. You may need some kind of background noise. Sometimes, extreme quiet is louder than a small noise. How do you clear your mind to find some peace and tranquility?
deep breathing and exhale with an ahhh!!!! do this till you feel like your floating and you will be amazed...

How do you clear your mind to find some peace and tranquility?
i go to the mountains....the mountains clear my mind
Going to sleep.
dont look at ur self
I don't know how old you are but would suggest Nature
go to a quiet place.

I had to do this once. My boyfriend at the time, husband now, asked me to marry him. It was a big decision for me to make and I didn't want any distractions from anybody. So, I went to the mountains, about 40mins from where I live. I was so greatful I went, and made the decision myself. when its quiet, its easier to clear your head. its my favorite place to go when I'm stressed or upset or just need peace, I also learned to appreciate the beauty of the outdoors. hope you'll find a place like that too
I've been meditating for many years now and if i feel stress or anything, i stop for one second, close my eyes and ';spill'; the excess energy out to the rest of my mind to use it for activities. This bestills my mind, like untying a knot.

If i want absolute tranquility i let loose the thoughts and emotions of the mind. Just let them go, dont cling to them and watch them fall. Mind is like a dirty glass of water and the dirt is the thoughts, let it sit and you will see the thoughts settle of their own accord. Then you can remove the dirtier ones or place better ones in instead.

Here's a hint; Thoughts and emotions= waves and ocean. Both are the same but different in that respect.
i go to a lake or stream and just sit on the bank and write or listen to music, and fall asleep (trying finding a stream in the middle of the woods)
I meditate when I am able to be disciplined about it, and it makes a huge difference in my life. stress goes down, I'm calmer and have a greater sense of well-being, and I have more positive, clear-headed energy. it affects everything that I touch and everything that touches me. check it out!

nature is amazing, like other people are saying, and it really can help you. but the great thing about meditation is that once you learn to do it effectively, you can do it just about anywhere. you can't always get out in a quiet natural setting when you most need to, but you can almost always close your eyes for a few minutes to tune out the world and tune into the universe and your inner resources.
Just get a day out of everyone else and be by yourself. Peace is when you get to see yourself clearly as you are and happy about it. The peace just come naturally. Go to seaside or mountains or just stay in your bed with a good book. free your mind and find peace within..
