I believe in the new age concept of the law of attraction. To get this to work I need to learn to master my thoughts. I tend to have a little anxiety. I want to eliminate the anxiety I have by filling my mind with positive affirmations. From what I have found out so far, the best way to clear my negative thoughts is with simple meditation. Can someone suggest some simple meditation techniques that are easy and will take only a few minutes each dayWhat are some good meditation techniques to practice to clear my mind?
Breathing techniques- breathing in and out very slowly with my eyes closed and visualization of a far away fantasy place- in a quiet, soft lit room with no distractions...that is how I meditate...sometimes I do it in bed at night, helps me relax...and if I have to, I can take myself to ';my place'; in the middle of the afternoon- if I am stressed enough! Meditation rocks- but it takes a while to master getting in the zone! What are some good meditation techniques to practice to clear my mind?
in yoga, we do a breathing technique during meditation where you alternating closing one nostril then the other with your hand. you cycle this seven times, then start over. it clears your mind extremely fast because you have to focus on which nostril comes next and what number you are on. also, it encourages deep breathing in order to get enough oxygen through only one hole!
If you only have a few minutes to spare each day, I don't imagine you'll have much success.
Focus on your breathing then imagine that theres this big bright light in front of you (with your eyes close). Dont get frustrated if the light is gone..thats because you loose your concentration. Just breath and try to get that light back again..keep staring at that light.. nothing is in your mind right now but just that light.. try 10-15 minutes first then add more time to it everyday.. good luck :D
Meditate on Jesus.
Look at a fish tank and try to decipher the message in their swimming.
Chanting the Psalms from the Bible really helps too.
I also occasionally watch Woody Woodpecker with my son, that really helps clear my mind.
HAHAHHAH. HUHUHUH.
Sit quietly and focus on your breathing. If another thought comes to mind, simply acknowledge its presence and return to thinking about your breathing as air flows into your lungs and your belly and chest move in and out.
You can also focus on what it is like to be sitting quietly: The temperature of the air, the way your knees feel when bent (and how the right knee feels different than the left knee), the tension in your neck, tongue, shoulders, etc., or the way such tension changes over time.
But doing this is not about the law of attraction. It's about living in the moment, and doing so even when meditation time is over. There's a Buddhist saying that you should try to meditate an hour each day. If you don't have an hour to devote to it, you should meditate 2 hours.

Think about Aaron Carter 24/7 like I do
close your eyes and count backwards from 100
I don't know anything about new age mumbo jumbo, the law of attraction, and such. But I do know something about clearing one's mind. It's called calm down and relax, set aside your worries for a while. We should all do this, and it has nothing to do with any new age philosophy. We all experience anxiety.
Find something to do to occupy your time. Music, TV, quiet time, a card game, stamp collecting, sex, a jigsaw puzzle, whatever it takes to get your mind off of life for a while.
I might suggest a fine cigar, a Sinatra album, and a glass of whiskey. I would do something beyond just sitting a certain way and chanting or holding beads. Invite friends over for wine and cheese.
There is no such thing as a ';clear mind'; unless it is unconcious. Meditation is either a busy mind chanting a worthless sound or staring into a mental image.. but. true meditation is pondering/muttering/repeating over and over a scripture, or Biblical phrase like ';Jesus is Lord'; and forcing an unruly mind to FOCUS upon the love or peace of God. THEN, and only then will you have an encounter with God. I have tried all ways and NOTHING gives you peace or freedom or understanding or truth but THE way of God's meditating.., or praying in the Holy Ghost and focusing ONLY on that! The only ';right'; way to take control away from your mind is to give it to the will of the Holy Spirit.
Hold a mala--prayer beads-- in your hand(s) and say a mantra, moving one bead on the mala over per mantra. A mantra can be anything from saying ';I will think positive'; to the most famous Buddhist mantra, ';Oh mani padme hum';. The mala allows focus and feeling the beads in your hands calms you.
